This drives me up the wall, especially when it comes to art being posted from non-English sites, like Pixiv. There've been so many artists who've up and deleted their Pixiv accounts because their art got stolen and reposted without their permission and/or a proper source.

Hell, I even stopped reblogging fan art I've come across that (usually in Final Fantasy-related tags I browse once in a blue moon), while gorgeous, I don't reblog b/c there's no source or credit and that, to me, just feels wrong.

Kudos to you for that. I don't reblog stuff that's unsourced, either. If I can't find the source and add it to the post with links and credit, I don't reblog it.

I'm with you, because as an occasional fan artist myself who's had stuff stolen (years ago, I found some idiot using my fan art without my permission to sell fansubbed material on eBay, and ignored my requests to stop) and had people claiming my art as their own (I found something on DeviantArt I did back in 2000 that someone said they did in 2012, even though my signature and date were still there!), I'm particularly sensitive to sourcing/crediting anything.

I no longer post anything from Pixiv because so many artists want permission and it's not something I want to deal with, and I flat-out refuse to reblog anything that doesn't have a source on it/I can't easily find a source for. With some of my fandoms, it's to the point where I'm outright blocking and blacklisting blogs that habitually post large collections of unsourced artwork because they clearly don't care.

Same. I only reblog stuff when I know the source. As an artist myself, I just don't want to take away someone's business, you know? The nicest review I ever got on my work was from tumblr!
