I get a lot of weird looks and comments because I require a cane to walk, particularly from older people who also use canes, but also just from anyone who decides that I look too young to really need it and therefore, must be faking it.

I was born with bad knees, and had knee surgery when I was 18 that was supposed to help my worst knee but actually just made it even harder to walk on without help. I really do need the cane. You can all stop glaring at me for being young.

Why would anyone fake needing a cane, I don't even understand why they'd do this.

It never occurred to me that anyone would fake that until people started accusing me of doing it. I'm not sure what they think the benefit to me is. Sitting closer to the doors on the bus?

You'll be surprised how many people fake something to get in the priority lines and such.

(Also for begging, but afaik that's not as common)

When I moved from my last place, the movers asked me if there was more stuff to go because "we found the old person chair in the shower" and they thought I lived with someone elderly.

Haha. No.

They did stop hitting on me after that.

I'd like something to sit on in a shower. After a long day it's the best.

There are lots of ways that it's annoying, but getting to relax is not one of them.
Deciding to get the chair and stop being dumb about it actually coincided with getting shin splints from being on my feet too much at work, and every single time I sat down under the hot water after an 8 hour shift I was so relieved.

This happened the last time we moved too! Although we should have just bought a new shower chair because that one doesn't fit the shower here.

Yeah. Mine is hanging out in the garage while I shower sitting in the tub like a sad cat.

I've heard the stool with low handles kind is pretty good, but I've only ever used the big chair.
