The hardest I've ever been judged was back when I was really badly sick, in the early days when I was still figuring out how to handle it. I was in the library, thumbing through some manga about a guy who starts turning into a mutant dog-person. There was all this stuff about him trying to convince other people he was still human, and I didn't really get it.

I suddenly started coughing something up, and at that time, I wasn't carrying around any tissues. I remembered a tissue box by the information desk, so I ran as fast as I could, but I didn't quite make it and wound up coughing gunk and spit on the floor in front of the desk. The lady at the desk glared and told me to leave the library, and I just cringed away from her, like a dog. That was how I understood that manga.

This is me anytime I exercise or laugh too hard. I've been phlegmy my whole life so I have pretty good control of my coughing and I just sort of stand there with it in my mouth and calmly search for a tissue, but try to discreetly spit into the tissue in front of anyone?

"EW. OMG THAT'S DISGUSTING. YOU HAVE NO MANNERS. WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT IN PUBLIC?"

Because I'm on a bus and there's no toilet? Because if I swallow it I might throw up on you instead?
