My mother is depressed. She keeps saying things like "there's no point to my life" and "I don't care about anything" and "whatever, I'll just die"... and while everyone will yell at me for it and everyone hates anyone who isn't 100% anti-suicide, I don't care.

The reason I don't care is, she's a religious fundamentalist and depressed because I'm queer. There's quite literally nothing I can do as the "source" of her depression besides walk the proverbial straight and narrow and when it's my life or hers, no.

Anon, there is an approximately 100% chance that she isn't actually suicidal and is just being manipulative. Tell her "OK, don't let the door hit you where the Good Lord split you" next time she pulls that shit and see what happens.
