[Starsky and Hutch]

I think it makes perfect sense, actually.

Nope. That makes perfect sense.

I totally think Hutch likes Starsky more than himself too. Erg. This is sad.

Well, to be fair, I think Starsky likes Hutch more than he likes himself too.

But I know what you mean. In Hutch's case, it does feel like it's sad. Like it's more about him not liking himself and thinking Starsky's too good for him. It's conjecture I guess, but...

Both are awesome characters but I don't feel like I can pick who I like more. Starsky and Hutch are a package deal...it would feel weird for me to favor one over the other. (But most people have favorites! There's nothing wrong with it!)

I don't find it odd that you favor the character that doesn't remind you of yourself.

(Thanks f!s for yet again reminding me of a tv show I need to watch, or in this case finish. I bought all the DVD's last year just so I could and still haven't got around to it.)

Makes perfect sense to me. The character I relate to most is almost never my favorite. Eg, in Buffy, I relate most to Oz, but my favorite is Buffy, who's nothing like me. I LOVE Oz, but the fact that Buffy is a gazillion things I am not but wish I could be is exactly what makes her my favorite. It could be similar in this case for you maybe?

Though in S&H...while I can see why people could have a favorite (they're such diffferent people) I just can't wrap my head around the idea of liking one more. There's three characters there really: Starsky, Hutch, and the Partnership. The Partnership is my favorite character for sure ;)

Don't really know anything about this show, but the guy with the dark hair is seriously hot. Dat jawline...

I think preferring someone different from you does make sense, but something about the 2nd part of your secret is making me sadface. :( I always got the feeling Hutch doesn't like himself very much at all, let alone as much as he loves Starsky. I hope that's not why your preferences fall this way, OP.

Makes sense to me. If you really relate to a character, it would only be logical to be drawn to the same kinds of people that character is drawn to, and if he's drawn to people who aren't similar to him, it's logical not to be as drawn to him as to another character.

Sounds a lot more sensible than the people who project onto/strongly identify with a character and proceed to glorify him or her and explain how everyone doesn't understand them.

Text: I like him [Starsky] more

but I relate to him [Hutch] more

I don’t know whether this is weird or if it makes perfect sense. I’m sure Hutch also likes Starsky more than he likes himself.

I am rather curious about why?

Not that I think there's anything strange about feeling this way about the characters, just that I am curious to know your reasons :)
