In the prof thread last night. My intention was just to point out that perhaps he'd misunderstood cordial-ness for friendship. But once all the fuck you/bullshit/CAPS responses started coming in, I dug in my heels inappropriately. Sorry for making you feel worse OP.

OP of that thread.

I appreciate your apology. But you kind of need to understand that even though this is an internet forum of anons, your response was precisely why I was afraid of going to the police or reporting the incident.

If I couldn't handle some random person on the internet questioning the validity of my story, why in god's name do you think I could handle someone to my face saying, "Well maybe he wasn't trying to really choke you out."

I didn't pursue any report. To be honest, I'm not strong enough to handle people insinuating that I should have been okay with being confronted with unwanted physical contact. I can't handle people saying boundaries I set out about my own body are irrelevant. I can't handle the social pressure that this puts on me.

Words have consequences. But thank you for reminding me that I coudn't handle the consequences anyway.

On one hand, I was on your side in the thread yesterday. I thought what he did was wrong, and you said he realized it was wrong after the fact and apologized to you so he may not be a danger to other people.

On the other hand, oh my god, this is such a passive aggressive reply to someone honestly apologizing to you that while you're in the right but I don't think I like you much.
