Seems comments that get the biggest praise and upvotes in the biggest subreddits )like r/news r/videos r/adviceanimals and r/pics) are white supremacist, sexit, rape jokes, and islamophobic.

And gaming references. Lots and lots of gaming references. In super serious threads.

Doesn't disprove my point.

The biggest, most common, lowest common denominator subreddits are going to attract the biggest, most common, lowest common denominator types of shit.

There are good subs there just like there are good sections of Tumblr.

askhistorians, askscience, most of the science subs, /r/documentaries, anywhere that isn't set up for a cheap, common LOL.

and /r/awww, of course.

/r/TwoXChromosomes is pretty big and moderately liberal (aside from the trolls). It is a default.

There are a lot of good subs. Look for ones based on your specific interests and beliefs.

Don't forget r/TrollXChromosomes! It's like TwoX, but with more snark (and, nowadays, more women, honestly)!

What r/news are you looking at? Because the one I am is fairly liberal, and those kinds of comments get downvoted pretty hard.

AdviceAnimals and pics are definitely awful, though. I unsubscribed from them immediately.
