Not me but to my brother. He's got aspergers and turns out he's being using drugs. We had to send him to the hospital secure ward after he went nuts over the week. It was scary, hallucinations and talking about being a martyr and seeing holes in space and drawing on his face . Turns out cannabis induced psychosis and he is at biological risk of schizophrenia. He doesn't believe the doc all yet but he's looking much better and healthier in the hospital.

I hope he stays away from cannabis after this

We went through a similar situation in my family. It turned out he was using it because he bought all the bull about it being 100% safe and better for you than medication for anxiety or pain. He ended up calling us as he was driving around, convinced he was being followed. We managed to get him to go to the hospital and hand the phone over so we could tell them what was happening, because he wasn't very coherent.

This is why I have such a huge problem with pro-cannabis facebook pages and websites. People reading them get the idea that it's a miracle cure with zero drawbacks and they feel safe using it. I'm sure it has medical applications that could improve quality of life for some people, but like any other drug, it can also be dangerous.

My best friend is of that mind set. And tbh, I believe her anxiety has gotten steadily worse since she started using. But I feel like I don't have the right or where withall to talk yo her about it. In fact, there's been quite a few more personal things I don't feel I can talk to her about anymore.

Yep. I did try to talk to him before this happened, but because he felt it was working for him, he got very defensive about it and refused to talk to anyone or think about cutting back.

I hear people shrug off the idea that it's addictive all the time, but I think psychologically if you've convinced yourself it's safe and it's doing you good, and you can't become addicted, then it can be very easy to stay in that mindset and ignore any problems it causes you.

I've noticed huge personality changes in people I know who use chronically. It's really sad, because I feel like I've lost my friends. I'm sorry you're going through that, too.
