Ugggh, yes, or they think that McCoy honestly hates Spock/Vulcans and is a bigot, and Spock seriously thinks McCoy is a jerk and a terrible doctor.

I always assume they just saw "The Galileo Seven" and completely stopped all critical thinking right then and there. It feels a little like sitting in a comedy club next to someone who doesn't get the joke. Especially when it comes to the most uber-blinkered Kirk/Spock shippers seeing The Tholian Web. Ah well.
