I've been watching the show on and off for years, though I lost real interest a long time ago. But as a casual viewer I was raging, and I don't even like Derek, jesus I'd be flipping tables if I were a longtime fan, let alone a shipper of that pairing.

I mean the character's been there since literally the first minute of the pilot, like I'd almost respect it as bold storytelling if I thought the creator had anything planned beyond 20 minute plothole melodrama before everyone promptly forgets about him.
