PREACH.

I don't mind people shipping them for the pretty (because honestly, that's as good a reason to ship as any), but I cannot imagine how anyone who ships them could be satisfied with how their relationship is playing out on the show. They're just so...bland. Hook is there. Emma is there. They interact on occasion and sometimes kiss. Am I supposed to care?

Honestly, Emma's had more chemistry with all the women she's interacted with this season. Elsa, Lily, Regina...

DA. There are tons of men and women who have been on the show who Emma has better chemistry with then Hook and would make for a more convincing romance.

Like when August came back I found it kind of funny because he has way more chemistry with Emma and I could not buy Emma's, "we're just friends" line to Hook.

(August would also go better with Emma because even with his mistakes he's a good guy, so the writers wouldn't have to constantly ignore an evil past like they do with Hook.)

But that's different. I agree that this season, their relationship has been sidelined, which is something I don't appreciate. But I think they make sense as a couple.

They really don't. Their entire relationship was based on Hook essentially hounding Emma, angsty because Emma didn't want him, and obsessing over Emma after the writers decided he wasn't a villain anymore. After all the shit Emma went through in S3, her deciding to have a romantic relationship with him makes 0 sense. If it was a very casual no-strings-attached sexual relationship I'd be more willing to accept it.

Emma didn't want anything romantic with Hook in S3B to the point where the writer's had to make a really stupid convoluted reason to get her anywhere near his mouth so they could do the "lol your magic is gone" plot with Zelena. She never would have touched him otherwise. Seriously.
