PREACH.

I don't mind people shipping them for the pretty (because honestly, that's as good a reason to ship as any), but I cannot imagine how anyone who ships them could be satisfied with how their relationship is playing out on the show. They're just so...bland. Hook is there. Emma is there. They interact on occasion and sometimes kiss. Am I supposed to care?

Honestly, Emma's had more chemistry with all the women she's interacted with this season. Elsa, Lily, Regina...

But when I watched the music video and realized that they had chosen a woman to be the modern example of someone "indestructible..."
I teared up.
It just felt so empowering to me, a sort of "Look at this! Look at what we can do!"
Unfortunately, it also means that now I can't listen to this song without having that reaction. Damn it.
(And no, I'm not a militant feminist or anything like that. I honestly have no idea where this reaction came from.)

Text: When I found out about DW, I was so psyched to start watching. But I never got past a few eps. No intention to try again in the near future.
Yet, I still feel a sort of secondhand fondness for it, fandom/showrunner drama and all.
I think it’s because it combines multiple themes I really like in a warm, fuzzy, soft SF package:
- friendships of circumstance, or found families - reinventing oneself - (time) travel - aliens - broad canon timeline - ensemble casts
So I sympathise with Whovians who can’t help loving the show despite all the things they wish they could change about it. I wish them the best.
Bonus: I ship Doctor/Master

I feel like I want to save a whole lot of discussions, fanwork and supplementary media (e.g. articles/interviews) so I can have an external record of my, um, fandom life-geist? Of the stuff I loved.
All I have now is a handful of articles I told myself were for research reference. I doubt I'm ever going to do it.
What's it going to be for, my kids? What kids?
A digital monument to my bad taste?
But I think about it. I was here and these frivolous things made me happy.

I take being a good player pretty seriously in this game - wasting other people's time just isn't cool.

That doesn't stop me from tanking pretty much everything that's not Final Coil while watching RuPaul's Drag Race.

Since you didn't save him, you missed out on the fact that he's a kid who's been thrust into a situation where people are killing each other and he's a former bullying victim. He tried to save someone else, and they turned on him and beat him to a bloody pulp. So the entire thing with Midori basically cracked him.

If you save him, he realizes he fucked up big-time and beats himself up for being just like the people he was opposing.

fwiw, I grew up in a sexually and emotionally abusive environment, but my son (now college age) has turned out to be a pretty amazing person.

I think if you're aware of how your past impacts your marriage and your parenting, you can compensate for a lot that might otherwise mess up your kid.
