ayrt - that's probably it. Pratchett fans REALLY LIKE THE GUY (myself included) and I s'pose the praise gets under some peoples' skin.

Yeah. I don't even LIKE the dude's writing and I have nothing against him personally. Pretty much everything I've seen about him is that he was a really nice guy, and it's sad that he got cut down by the illness he got.

I think it's blown up because when he died people posted about how he was reasonable and feminist and all that so obviously people have to strike back and say NO, HE SAID THIS THING ONCE THEREFORE HE IS EVIL. It's a Tumblr thing.
