I do think there's some kind of theme about "creators"--both parents who exploit their children and scientists who exploit their zombies. The main character is the "good" creator who cares for his creation over himself, the old guy is the "penitent" creator who tries to do right by those he's hurt, and the rest are various shades of abuser.

Also, shower scenes and fetishy outfits, because fanservice.
