Do you ever get that feeling where you're reading some fanfiction and it's just so good that you feel like it's just fundamentally unfair that this person isn't a professional author and that you can't read a bunch of novels by them

Or worse: paying money for a real book when it reads like it hasn't been edited at all/includes multiple spelling mistakes.
Realising there are fanfic authors who have more pride in their work than publishers/published authors.

I've come across fics that should have been made into their own movies within a franchise. One was so good, I didn't finish reading it (I literally read the first paragraph of the first chapter and I knew it was too much), knowing the next movie in the franchise could never live up to it. As a result, I've never found that fic again. And now I'm terribly sad.
