Re: Avengers: Age of Ultron

Steve mostly pulled combo moves with Thor. A friend and I joked during the movie that the end credit scene would be the high score ranking to see which two characters had the most combos.

I forgot how useless Natasha's kidnapping was. Just so she could give Ultron's location to everyone else? Why would Ultron, who should be somewhat aware of her skillset, even a) leave her alive that long, and b) leave her in a position to get the necessary equipment to contact Clint? Was it on purpose? It feels like I'm missing something.

I haven't seen the X-Men version of Quicksilver, but I loved him in AoU. I admit I felt it very hard to care about the twins while they were "evil" (probably because I was waiting for the heel-face turn), but after they joined up with the Avengers the twins were great. Even if their accents were terrible (that might just be the dub, though).

Of course Ultron left her there and alive on purpose. He wanted to lure the Avengers to the church so that he could (a) make them watch the destruction, and (b) kill them all at once.

But was that said or just assumed? I'm usually fine with interpreting character's actions without having everything spelled out, but it just didn't feel like that was Ultron's plan at all. I would have been fine with a "they will all come to me *evil cackle*" from Ultron and then a cut to Natasha assembling her emergency contact thingy, but the way it played out on the screen seemed disjointed and weird.

As a whole the movie feels to me as though they left half the scenes on the cutting floor to fit the time limit and it made the movie jumpy and full of random scenes and transitions that don't flow together properly.
