Back when I used to load UPS trucks, I once bashed my head at work and didn't realize that I had broken the skin (though it HURT LIKE A MOFO) until the blood started sort of splorping down my face, which freaked me out a bit. The supervisor drove me to the nearest ER or clinic or whatever it was (it was almost 5 years ago, I don't remember) which I left with 4 staples in my scalp and a deep and lingering sense of embarrassment. You can't see the scar because it's in my hair, but I can feel it if I dig through my hair in the right spot.
