Well not now you've said that they won't. And there should have been no "probably", just a "shut up, not all anon are the same anon" from you. Everytime someone accuses an anon of being all one anon, no matter how true you suspect it might be, that should still be your response. Everytime you agree, even a little, it hurts all the anons who are not other anons because it perpetuates the meme and leads to anon comments being devalued. So please, do not make us anons feel less a part of F!S by perpetuating that meme.

I don't think they were planning to regardless of what I said.

I don't think all anons are always the same anon, but in that specific instance I believed that those two in particular being referenced, were! I might be wrong! There's no way to prove either one retrospectively, really.

Whether they were or not is incidental, it is the perception that you foster when you don't come down hard on the accusation. You madea big pile of poo out of anons two nights ago, and you should do more to reintegrate anons and make us feel as valuable as the named users. You are a mod, your words have more weight because you are a mod, where you inject slight doubt your followers will take as devoted gospel. That is why you need to come down hard on the meme. Please add "all anons are the same anons"-accusations to the verboten list and insta-deletion. FOr the good of all of us.

As for your serious request, though - no. It's often a legit accusation, plus anon can accuse all users of also being socks of the same person, as has been proven repeatedly in this post.

Nice to see you being a pain in your own ass for a change, but it is a cultural thing. Regardless of what the truth is on specific cases, it is the general accusation that gets thrown around so quickly to denigrate anons that is hurtful and makes anons feel less valued (cue named user going anon to claim they are always anon and they don't, because named user is a fucking troll and a brownnoser). Then your little coterie of ass kissers run that into the ground.

I don't think there's anything I can do here besides apologize that you felt hurt and encourage you to find a place elsewhere where anons are respected and valued to the degree you feel they should be respected and valued. I genuinely hope you find that place.

As is, I've outlined the reasons above why assuming anons are the same anon won't be a delete/freeze/ban/etc-able thing, and I don't have much further to say on that.

You don't have to put assuming anons/same on the list. You just have to put saying it on it, just until the message sinks in not to accuse anons of it as a lazy way to shut down an arguement. And you should refrain from saying it, or even hinting at it at all, because your words carry more weight. I don't think you realize that. That by dint of being a mod, you set the tone. So when you hint that an anon is same, even if you don't mean it, if you aren't certain, if you just had a hunch, it gives carte blanche to the likes of Blitzwing and Chardmonster to go all out on denigrating anons. You have to watch your words more, Case.

Anon is a status anyone can hop in and out of, and isn't really something that needs protecting in the way you appear to be implying! No one is forced to be or stay anon.

Besides, the easiest way to shut down an argument is to simply choose to not have one any more. Which I'm planning on doing, unless there's something else?
