I bet you're against the death penalty, hypocrite.

To try to approach this seriously, there's a difference between killing someone who's shooting at you and killing someone you've already captured and locked up in a cell. I'd rather see violent criminals captured than killed if possible, but that's not always realistic when cop or civilian lives are at risk.

(Of course, that's not a defense of police brutality or abuse of power. There are all sorts of ways you could take this to an extreme conclusion.)
