10. You know, don't think that the canon shippers can't be just as crazy batshit insane as the slash fans. I'll be the first to admit that it isn't as common, maybe, but it happens. And not all slash fans, or people with slash ships, are elitist jerks. Example relating to icon: I love Haruhi to death, she's an awesome character, I am happy that she and Tamaki seem to be getting together, but I also ship them with other people too, het and slash pairings. We can be sane too.

16. I find it particularly hilarious that some fans find any and every reason to bitch about remakes/reimaginings. I mean, really. We may not be as fancy as the Broadway-going crowd-- or in fact live in a place where that's even possible!-- but don't you people realize that some of us actually think of some actors as good really actors who fit a role well, instead of just "that guy from Pirates"? And that maybe while Depp's casting made us excited, we were already excited hearing that there would be a movie version of Sweeney Todd made at all???

23. Is it just me, or does the second half of this secret make it nigh-impossible to take the first half seriously? If you want to make a real complaint about the quality of a story, adding something that makes it sound like you want to do a self-insert (even if it wasn't your intention) probably isn't a good idea.

28. Haha, the only times this is funny is when it happens to the people who are being elitist. "I can't believe people who write at the level you do can evne be functioning normaly." Or those who are trying to be English fanbrats end up screwing up WHILE trying to be English fanbrats. :D People making a misspelling isn't some grave sin or fatal flaw, people. It happens.

34. SO FREAKING AGREED. A-and not just because I have a total kink for men who are totally in charge of all other aspects of their lives wanting to be able to relax and trust in another person enough to hand over the reigns to them, in bed. BUT YEAH MUCH AGREEMENT ON THIS END, stereotypical top/bottom seme/uke stuff bores me in most cases, unless it really IS in character for someone not to submit, or not to have the confidence to take charge-- and even then, it might change with time.

AS WELL IT SHOULD HAVE :DD Very few people in fandom actually play around with that, and it's sad.

but not all of them do and it's getting tiresome to be beaten on when they aren't written to switch.

I know not all of them do, and I wasn't meaning to imply everyone and every fic should be written that way. But a huge portion of fandom really does box everyone into "oh he's big and strong and therefore he's the big bad seme and this is his uke" sort of cliches, and it's mostly that which is the peeve here. Not that it's not always done, but that it hardly ever is?

So... less the people who honestly believe so-and-so has reasons to only ever top/bottom, and more the fans who take the effeminate characters and ALWAYS make them bottom, or use the "height rule" so that if a character is shorter, they automatically can't top. :/

Yeah, that was my point exactly. I am sick of SO MANY couples and fans who are like "ONE WAY, ONE WAY ONLY" and it's like, yeah, yeah there are couples like that in real life, but personally? I wanna see more switching and frottage in fics. D:

Which was the whole point. That and F!S needed more naked men. :3
