I KNOW. Seriously, if one more person starts on at me because i haven't read them/don't think they seem all that fantastic i will do something drastic. Every single one of my friends has read the series and every time it comes up in conversation (which is does often, seeing as it's TEH BEST BOOK EVA ZOMG) i get the "why haven't you read them yet?/they're so awesome/but it has romance! You like romantic stuff, therefore you will love this" speech.

... and that comment turned into a rant *is sheepish* sorry about that.

lolz. i was reading the book and talking to a friend who loves it.
me:it doesnt seem to be that good
friend: don't worry about it. it's a little slow in the beginning.
me: im near the end
friend: don't worry, she wrote another book from edward's perspective it explains everything.

SEE THEY'RE ALL BRAINWASHED!
i didnt have the heart to tell her i understood everything because every line is spoonfed to the reader and anyone with half a functioning hemisphere of a brain can understand it.

I have read the first two, just to see what the fuss was about... and it was just so goddamn awful I had to keep going just to see how bad it was going to get. But the last one defeated me. I realise it is really meant for 13 year old girls, but please, do we have to have a heroine that is so wet and pathetic? It's insulting. I know there are people our there like that, but it doesn't mean that that makes a good lead character. It's melodramatic cliche after cliche - but without a single descent character to want to read it for, or enough guts to just go all out with it. If only it didn't seem to take itself seriously! I am a total sucker for cliched, ott stuff, this took something that could have been hilarious, entertaining and engaging, and just faffed around never ever bloody going anywhere! And don't get me started on the 'plot'... what a joke.
