There are lots of reason you could have fainted, so you should go to your GP at least and mention it. Did you go from sitting to standing before it happened? Were you drinking enough water?

I have a scar on the edge of my chin because I didn't get stitches. I was in hospital at the time and one of the junior docs said it wouldn't scar because it was small, but it was pretty deep, so I guess it wasn't held together as it healed, if that makes sense. If you've cleaned it and it's not bleeding or gaping open, you might be able to get away with butterfly closures. They're just funny shaped bandaids that you stick to either side of it to hold it closed while it heals.
