They kind of did. They said fandom treats people who aren't in favor of gay rights like shit. Which to be frank, fandom SHOULD. It's one thing to have a moral objection to gay marriage or homosexuality and thus not partake in it yourself.

But if you are against people having rights, you've earned your marginalization.
