Is the whole "only gay for you" thing still as prevalent as it was a few years ago?

I used to see it everywhere (fanfic and original fic) but lately, possibly with more discussion about the entire spectrum of sexualities, it doesn't seem to crop up as much, and on the rare occasion it does, it feels pretty anachronistic.

(Or maybe I've just gotten lucky on Fandom Roulette again and don't see as much of it in mine anymore.)

I think it's both less prevalent and you've been luckier than me lately. It always crops up on me when I least expect it.
