Stupid Little Pet Peeves

What are stupid little things that just bug you.


What bugs me is title changes/word changes because supposedly people in other countries are too stupid to be able to handle the original version.

It is Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone and Avengers, damn it. I refuse to acknowledge the existence of any other versions.

And I know it is irrational, but I genuinely get angry when I hear "Avengers Assemble" or "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone."

'Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone' really bugs me as well. The Philosopher's Stone is a specific thing, an alchemical concept, it's not a random wizard's rock. I still don't get why they changed that one.

I pretend now when I read my US edition HP books that the wizarding world has a different name for the stone, so we just know it as the Philosopher's Stone because we're muggles.

I'd be willing to bet that the bright light behind that particular change didn't know what the Philosopher's Stone is, and just thought the word was too hard for the poor sheltered children.
