okay, I have to google it. I have no idea what it really is.

Something about harvests? I'm still not really getting why there's a turkey involved.
I guess there's something I'm missing, or you're just really excited about doing Christmas twice (although why you don't space them out further if that's what it is, idk).

If we have a good fruit growing season, mangoes are cheaper, so we buy them by the box. That's about the closest we get to celebrating harvests.

there's a turkey involved because turkey is delicious. that's also the reason that i'm excited about it. except it's better than Christmas, because you don't have to worry about all the Christmas season bullshit.

to be clear here, i'm not being terribly serious here. i would probably read thanksgiving fic for any fandom, if it was well-done, regardless of the veracity of it, because i like holiday fic and i like food fic, but also the idea of someone intentionally writing fic that's completely culturally off in that way is just very amusing to me. i find it funny.

Don't worry. I enjoy wrong things all the time.

I have no legs to stand on, because as a kid, I decided Halloween should be a thing here. I may or may not have dressed up as a pirate and went door to door demanding people give me lollies.

Mangoes in the shops around here are terrible. ~so jealous.

I feel bad for you. You can get less tasty ones from the big shops here, but the roadside ones and the local fruit shops always have the kind you can smell from the carpark.
