I have never read 50 Shades (and don't ever plan to), so maybe I'm in the wrong, but iirc, 50 Shades portray BDSM in a negative way but the Kushiel series depicts it in a positive light?

I don't know what I'm saying, I just enjoyed the Kushiel series a lot and consider it much better written than 50 Shades, and it has a much better understanding of BDSM than 50 Shades.
