She's just a pop singer, and her music (that she doesn't write) usually sucks. She sing okay, but so do a lot of singers. She doesn't do anything else besides that. I'm a bit baffled why she has this following that somehow exempts her from the usual formula.

My guess is a really effective press team that probably gets paid handsomely to manage her (social) media output. (If they're not paid handsomely, I will eat my hat. I'll get the barbecue sauce ready just in case.)

She's been in this industry since what, 18? That's a lot of people who grew up with Destiny's Child and followed her career.

Yeah basically. I'm not hating on her, but I'm sure there are many other black female singers with the same talent level as her and with similar views as her. Why do people insist on trying to make some goddess out of her, to the exclusion of other artists who have just as much to offer?
