If you haven't seen Daredevil yet and don't mind the MCU getting a bit Frank Miller with the violence (if not the everything else, fortunately) it's a fantastic show that is well worth watching in and of itself (it's basically a legal drama with punching!) and not just as part of the MCU.

Isn't it great? I watched the first episode 'cuz I needed something to do after my HD blew up and I ended up plowing through the whole season in about a week.

It was way more violent than I expected. But it didn't bother me all that much.

Yeah, I wasn't expecting that either. But given that the Frank Miller run on the comics is perhaps the most famous one (it was basically practice for The Dark Knight Returns) I'm not surprised it was at least a stylistic influence.
