Re: Fandom Gripes Pet Peeves
(Anonymous) 2015-05-08 02:37 am (UTC)(link)Also fandom's habit of reducing a queer character to their queerness. Everyone are sassy and aboard the angst train, especially gays and trans. All lesbians are sassy and snarky. Especially when they involve other characters whose personality they change completely just to fulfill their fantasy. The most annoying for me is in Homestuck fandom, they make a character who is close to the recent slash ship (which I actually ship) into their baby. The character is an adult who had been through war and has ptsd. Because he's of another species and act childish they make him a baby, I even see someone draw him in a baby carrier. It's insulting not just to the character but to the ship themselves.
