Kinda going off on a tangent, but I really wish people would quit labeling pretty boy characters as psychopaths/sociopaths and acting like it's a romantic thing.

Ugh, I turned that off so quickly.

Dexter did it right. The murder wasn't made sexy or stylish and the murderer wasn't made into a fucking glamorous, dangerous prettyboy, the murder was just shown as fucked up and really, really funny in the darkest, most horrible way.

Incidentally I'm actually writing a character which I am making an effort to make him fall into the actual ASPD/psychopath spectrum. i.e., poor emotional skills, gives zero shits about the world around him, poor impulse control, doesn't think ahead, zero care for what anybody else thinks or wants, vaguely charming despite all this.
It's amazing what a boring person he actually is, haha. He's more of a walking plot device than a character.
(however, I'm also purposely avoiding actually diagnosing him as such, and admit that my knowledge comes from reading some books about the disorder(s), and not clinical or anything).
