Uh... how would that work? I'm all in favor of euthanasia for adults, but that's when the patient makes the decision to end their life. Most laws agree that children aren't able to make those kinds of decisions for themselves and I'd feel a bit weird if the parents were the ones deciding.

Well, depending the age of the child, children CAN express the desire to die and/or not continue treatment.

Yes. But being able to express the desire is not quite the same thing as being capable of making a major impact decision. That's why many countries have age of consent laws, drinking laws, driving laws, military service criteria, etc. with age limits.

The trouble there is the same argument goes for making the major impact decision in the other direction - too. A child might also not understand what it means to go ahead with a hail mary treatment, that might just cause them to suffer and be in and out of hospitals to give them maybe " extra months.

I get why there are age of consent laws, but the reality is that with very sick kids you simply might not have the luxury.
