Wait, what happened? Is that the original guy's (forget his name) kid? The one Castiel was going to use for a vessel, then the guy decided, "Nope, not muh kid" and volunteered to be vessel for life?

...so, that's how long it's been, since I've watched SPN. Also holey moley, Misha Collins looks way old now.

SPOILERS for pretty much all of Castiel

At some point - I'm not sure *when* exactly, though I suspect when Lucifer killed Castiel - Jimmy Novak, the vessel, also died, and his soul was shuffled off to heaven.

His wife was a little obsessed and depressed and went in search of Jimmy/Castiel, thinking that if she could find him, she could get their family together, etc., and all would be well. Claire (the daughter) went to live with her grandmother.

Over the course of a few years (four? I think? can't quite remember), Amelia (mom) ended up getting captured by a grigori and was slowly having her soul sucked out of her, a tasty nibble at a time. Claire's grandmother died, and she bounced around in foster homes until running away and joining a 'found family' of crooks.

Drama!thieving!near!death! and whatnot, and Claire ends up with the Winchesters and Castiel trying to find her mom (who she thinks just abandoned her). They find her, she ends up dying to save Claire from the grigori (who said that Amelia would never recover from having her soul nibbled to bits for two years) and Claire (now 18) goes off to live with Sheriff Mills for a little bit, to find her feet and learn about the hunting life and just - figure out her next move.

While Amelia was a prisoner of the grigori, he put her in a kind of trance-like state where she constantly dreamed of Jimmy coming home, a happy reunion. In the end, when she died, she walked into Jimmy's heaven and they were reunited there.

Nope, not too confusing. Uh. Not that good, either, from the sounds of it. Didn't Claire already know about the whole "surrendering vessel for life" thing?

She knew that Castiel needed her dad as a vessel, but the 'for life' was never supposed to happen.

Yes! I did, too. He deserved it, and it was horrible to think of him being carted around inside his body with no autonomy and no way of ever escaping.

That was Jimmy's wife. His daughter is still alive and was sent to live with Jody Mills.

Well, Collins is scrunching up his face to cry. That's where the wrinkles come from. They aren't normally there.

Anyway, Jimmy's kid, Claire, run into Sam, Dean and Cas again. Claire is looking for her mom who disappeared all those years ago. They find her. She was being held a prisoner and slowly having her soul being eaten by a rogue Angel. (And there's a sentence I will never type again.) The Angel tries to kill Claire. Claire's mom protects her and gets killed in the process. But Cas and the boys kill the Angel. Claire is sent to live with Jody. Meanwhile, Claire's mom goes to heaven and reunites with Jimmy. THE END.
