Yes!
Him dying was a real shock, and very well done. Then I kept waiting for the series to end... and it didn't end... and I finally just quit and came back to read the final chapter so I could see Light die.
(In our DN musical we even parodied that. L dies at the end of the musical, and the rest of the characters walk off stage saying "what's the point now that L's gone?", while Light calls after them to come back, what about Kira, etc.)
