Woah. My fist thought was "that's pretty shitty of them". I've gotten gift art myself and keep them in a folder whenever I feel sad. I'm sorry you had to see that, though. But I think a lot of artists would appreciate you drawing stuff for them. So don't let a few rotten eggs drain your enjoyment of doing something you like giving.
