Trying to argue for why it should be acceptable is still shitty. It's not. Deal.

"They need to grow a thicker skin" is making excuses for it.

i guess my deal is why is telling people to kill themselves the line that should never ever be crossed when people do all sorts of fucked up shit in fandom that no one bats an eye at

like i've seen people ganged up (here even) and told in more or less words they're awful human being for innocuous comments, which imo is more mental abuse than a throwaway kill yourself comment

but this is treated as okay

like i get that telling people to kill themselves is not ideal, but if people hanging out in spaces where the other stuff is treated as a non-issue, i don't really get why it's kill yourself that crosses some line

i don't really think people who can't take a kill yourself should be hanging out anywher anonymous

maybe most people are bad at implicit versus explicit, but otherwise idk
