Hakuryuu/Gyokuen is one ship that I honestly wanted more explored in canon. Is the incest overtone deliberate in Gyokuen's end? If so then why? I can't see it benefitting her in any way. Does it have anything to do with her life as Arba? The implication is pretty obvious, I wish the author would have done more. But it's a shounen series, all the political suffs are already simplified, I can't see them exploring incestous themes. A shame since I'm really intrigued by Gyokuen/Arba character.

Well, I don't think someone gives their son some tongue out of anything other than incestness.

To be honest, I'm really surprised they added it in there at all. Like you said, they haven't really explored it. I assumed (storywise) it was just another way to show Gyokuen's depravity/batshit crazyness. She was probably doing it to fuck with his head, and she seems to be completely oblivious of any kind of sexual morals.

Ohtaka can be surprising though. Maybe she'll do something more with it. With m/m usually the fans will pick up the slack if the author doesn't, but m/f incest isn't as popular, and cross-generational squicks more people than siblingcest does. Combo those two and there isn't shit for this pairing ;~;

It does seem like something she would do for shit and giggle. I don't think Gyokuen understand sexual values at all. I headcanon her as an asexual being who use sex as a tool to achieve what she want, what with being implied to be an artificial being made by father David and all.

Magi had always had pretty mature theme, for example slavery and politic (which made me read it in the first place). Maybe it will be explored later, I'm entirely unconvinced that Gyokuen is dead for good.

I think there are hentai doujinshi of them, I also think you wouldn't want to read those.
