I was also anticipating Ron's death. In fact, the trio making it out alive seemed kind of lame, considering she compensated for it by killing all the secondary characters. Anyway, I like Ron, but his death would've been great - he could've gone out in self-sacrifice and finally become the hero he wanted to be. Plus it would mirror the chess game from the first book when Ron makes a move knowing he'll die so Harry can win.

Hermoine, I couldn't really see dying, that would've surprised me.

I never thought about that. It would have made for a really good call-back. I'm almost disappointed that she didn't kill off Ron now (just to clarify, I do love Ron as a character. I really do; he's one of my favorites. I just kind of wish he had died)

I didn't think the trio surviving was lame, but yeah I thought Ron would die the way you said. Now that I think back, I don't think I thought Hermione might die and Ron survive though. I thought either Ron would die, or both he and Hermione would die, saving Harry.
