Enh, honestly, I feel like this points out one of the problems with the mental health industry: it's often from the outside looking in, rather than the inside looking out.

God knows, I've seen a LOT of bullshit spewed about DID over the years, and at least THAT isn't usually diagnosed early in childhood like autism.

If you found that tumblr helpful, maybe that means reading other stuff by actual autistic people would be helpful. Most of what I know about autism came from my autistic friends, rather than the psych lit I read. (Which mostly focused on rocking and echolalia... they were OLD books.)
