Uh what?

They are definitely not. Isabela at least definitely is not.

Isabela is about the same skintone as Johnny Dep in PotC. They are pirates who spend excessive time under the sun. Hence the heavy tan.

I'd agree in Isabela's case, but Fenris clearly is supposed to be dark-skinned. (Not gonna touch the whole POC thing, though.)

Isabela is absolutely not white.

And Fenris? I'd say his skin tone could easily make him be non-white, but his sister is a little lighter skinned and has red hair. But then again he's also an elf, so he's not really anyway.

Isabela's skin tone in Origins was the SECOND DARKEST POSSIBLE skin tone (as one DA creator who designed her actually pointed out when angry racist people were made that she's obviously not white in DA2). In Dragon Age 2 she is obviously dark skinned, and with her black hair, I'm pretty baffled why you would conclude she was white. I'm not sure you could get any more obviously not white unless you were Vivienne.

Plus, you do realize that non-white people can still be light skinned right? Which doesn't apply to Isabela anyway.

Non-white people can still be light skinned

And white people can still be dark skinned, so what exactly are you basing the "Fenris and Isabela are POC" on?

Re: Doing it wrong

Because she's the second darkest possible skin type? And her very designer got defensive and posted exactly that on the Bioware message boards this when people were freaking out because "DA2 had made her black when she was so obviously white in the original game"? She's always been nearly as dark as the game allows.

If you're really set on Isabela being white then hey, that's your business. But it's not fandom that has the problem here, when she's infinitely more likely to be not-white than white.

That counts for fuck all when they 3rd darkest skintone is Alistair.

Also have you ever heard of the death of the author? What her designer says does not matter in the least. The designer of Bayonetta says that she's not a sexist design. The designer cannot be allowed to be the authority on these things.

Um so though Isabela's designer basically confirmed that she has never been white, your "death of the author" allows you to head!canon Isabela as white. okay, fine. Racist, but that's your deal. But you post here complaining that other fans (correctly) interpret her as non-white, that she's obviously white and you have no idea how they came to that conclusion? That's rather something else entirely.

So if the creator of Alistair said he was a POC inspire of him looking like a member of the Aryan brotherhood then you would stand up and declare me a racist for saying "Nope that's a white guy"?

I'm sad that you aren't even trying anymore.

Good come back. Totally answers my question

"Durrr, I can't answer his point so I'll pretend the point isn't worth answering. I'm sure everyone else is as brain-damaged as I am, so I'm sure no-one will notice."

A racist called me brain damaged. I feel like that's actually a compliment.

Listen, if you're really going to troll this, I say you drop Alistair and really go for the big ones. Tell me Vivienne is white. I'll feed you all you like if you give it a shot. Actually, if you're really up for it, go for Shale or Dog. Mic's yours.

I don't think I've ever seen a comment as hilarious as one that insults the other person's comeback and then starts their comeback with "durrr." Good job bro, you really showed them.
