Re: Mad Max question answering [Spoilers, rape discussions probably)
- Rape neither occurs on screen or is directly referenced. It is however alluded to quite seriously.
- The experiences of the women were not used for laughs
- It passes the Beschdel test by miles.
- The women are not cookie cutter background copies of each other
- I hadn't actually seen a single trailer so I had no idea Furiosa, essentially the main protaganist, was a disabled women of colour/mixed heritage. However Mad Max is pretty good with it's disabled people.
- After about halfway through the movie we get introduced to some really new cool characters
ETA: There is some disturbing imagery briefly, women were referred to as "things and breeders". Things turn out well for the women in the disturbing imagery
