Images: The title screens for the TV shows Forever and Gotham. Forever, on the left, is a picture of a cityscape that goes from black-and-white to sepia tone to full color. Gotham, on the right, is a bleak cityscape in browns and greys, with a blimp stuck in there for some reason.

Text: It pisses me off so much that Forever was cancelled and Gotham wasn't. Especially since they come across like two sides of the same coin to me.

Under the Forever title: *Overarching story arcs mixed with "case of the week" individual episodes, with the cases taking precedence.

*Small cast of characters that all act well/play well off each other.

*Fleshes things out through flashbacks.

*Mostly light-hearted and positive.

Under the Gotham title: *Overarching story arcs mixed with "case of the week" individual episodes, with the arcs taking precedence.

*Large cast of characters with inconsistent characterization/bad acting. (Barbara, anyone?)

*Relies on audience's knowledge of comics to flesh things out.

*Mostly grim and gritty.

(At the bottom of the secret): I feel like the only reason Gotham's still around is because it's part of the Batman mythos. If it had been an original story, I think it would have been cancelled a long time ago.

Apples and Oranges.

Didn't see Forever (don't even know what it's about) and didn't like Gotham. Hell if I know why some things get views/to stay on air and others don't. *forever bitter about Young Justice*
