Tell Fox to stop making shitty movies so Marvel can get it back! OooooooooOOOooonnnnnneeeeee DDDDDaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAaYYYYYYYY

(Anonymous) 2015-05-17 08:23 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't think FOX has to completely give up the rights, they could strike up a deal where they still get to make movies but it's part of the MCU.

I also hate that Marvel is being petty about it and changing back stories of characters for this shit.

This. So much this. I stopped my comics subscriptions because I was so irked about the petty retconning of Wanda and Pietro's parents.

Yeah I'm behind on the comics and I actually don't know if I'm going to pick up again for a couple years. I am not crazy about them trying to make everything relate to the movies and the retcon of Wanda and Pietro just felt like a smack in the face.

I'm just going to pretend none of it happened until someone comes in and retcons the retcon.

It's not just pettines though. It makes legal shit a lot easier.

Oh, I know it does. It just really annoys me that relationships I loved (like Lorna and Pietro's sibling bonding) were demolished because of studio politics.

WTF, are you kidding me? Storm is horribly, horribly miscast, and I want a short guy for Wolverine, but the last two movies were really damn good.

Probably because they didn't focus on Storm at all

I think prefer the newer movies because the cast has better chemistry with each other (especially Fassbender and McAvoy). Then again, it could just be because they had some reallllllyyyy weak actors in the first three.

(Anonymous) 2015-05-17 08:44 pm (UTC)(link)
DA. Eh, I think both movie sets had their good and their bad in the casting department. I love both sets of Xavier and Magneto and both sets have chemistry. Jennifer Lawrence is a TERRIBLE Mystique though and the movies really suffer because they concentrate a lot on her.

I think the movie that everyone agrees has massive problems is X3, but the first 2 were pretty entertaining.

But Days of Future Past had both casts and it was pretty good. Like anon before said they didn't concentrate on Storm and what scenes she was in you didn't see her weaknesses as an actress as much as in the previous movies. Everything came together well in that movie, which actually surprised me because when I first heard about it I thought the amount of people in the cast might be a problem.

By 'the last two movies' do you mean First Class / Days of Future Past? Or X2/X3? Because I don't know much about the X-Men movies but I do know that X3 is considered... not good.

That is why DOFP was basically designed to completely erase the events of X3. Fox was like, DO WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO TO GET THAT SHIT OUT OF HERE!

I would've honestly taken the mutants over Spidey but I feel like the only one.

I'd definitely ask for recasts though. Don't think the MCU could handle everything being about RDJ *and* Hugh Jackman.

(Anonymous) 2015-05-17 09:42 pm (UTC)(link)
I love Spidey but I'm not excited about a new actor and rebuilding his universe AGAIN (I know they said they aren't doing an origin story, but I still feel like establishing another spider man is going to be exhausting.)

The only thing I want is for him to fanboy Captain America and be snarky, that's about the only reason I want him in the Avengers.

Otherwise I agree I'd rather have mutants.

You're definalty not the only one.
I'm really not looking forward to ANOTHER movie about a character who's been rebooted TWICE and already has five movies under his belt.
Like jesus christ the mcu is full of white guys can we please have literally anythig else.
I'm kinda secretly hoping something happens and Marvel loses the right to Spider-Man again.
