I've not seen Gotham so no comment there, but those bullet points are a pretty concise summary of what I liked about Forever.

I especially loved the way Abe and Henry's father-son relationship was portrayed, and that although the show frequently dealt with the less fun facets of Henry's immortality, it maintained a balance where the overall atmosphere didn't feel weighed down by it.
