I made a diagram! :D It's really ugly, but hopefully it helps.



Blue is defending. And I didn't draw a keeper because the keeper doesn't count when it comes to offsides.

So, the example in the top is offsides, because there are no blue players between the red player and the goal. The example in the bottom isn't offsides, because there's a blue player between the red player and the goal.
