No, some famous person is not going to read this and get their feelings hurt, so don't go all "ur meen, you shouldn't call people ugly" at me.

Sometimes it seems like everyone - or at least every male - is considered attractive on here. Even someone like Peter Dinklage, is apparently not even "Hollywood ugly" but straight up attractive?

So what sort of person do you consider "Hollywood ugly" and what sort of person would you consider regular ugly?

Steve Buscemi is, I believe, considered the classic Hollywood Ugly example? If I had to specify a distinction, a Hollywood ugly person still has a compelling face that makes you want to look at it (or else they wouldn't be acting) while regular ugly is just the opposite: unattractive, makes you want to avoid.

I wouldn't call Buscemi attractive but he does have a lot of charisma. He's weird looking but in a fascinating way.

He looks like a human/ferret hybrid.

Hollywood Ugly's actually usually used to describe someone who'd be average in pretty much any setting other than one where they're surrounded by Hollywood stars. They aren't really ugly, they're just less attractive than their co-stars, so they get dressed in ill-fitting clothing and everyone pretends to think they're hideous.

Genuinely ugly but compelling and charismatic people like Steve Buscemi don't really have a buzzword, in part because they're incredibly rare in film.

Um whaaaa? "Even someone like Peter Dinklage"? Sorry you have a thing against people with dwarfism but you're acting like he's so obviously ugly and ever so shocked that people aren't as appalled as you by him. I am not a GoT fan but he is a very good looking man, and stop acting like that's weird just because he's short.

The issue isn't that he's short, it's that he has a deformity, and that is usually not considered attractive. I don't see anything about his face that could be attractive enough to make up for it.

I find Tom Hiddleston to be completely unattractive. I don't know what other people see in him.

Peter Dinklage is alright though. He's not my type but I would agree he is an attractive man.

I think Peter Dinklage looks fine.

Benedict Cumberbatch is my "I don't get it" person. I know he has an interesting voice but he's very strange looking to me. Even for a normal person and not by Hollywood's standards his features are a little off.

Fake boobs, spray tans (or tanning bed tans) on white people, bleached blonde hair that isn't colored some kind of cool punky color, excessive facial deformity (although often burns or scars make me more attracted to someone), obesity (sometimes overweight is still attractive to me though, but that's exclusively on women), excessive underweight, bad teeth (discoloration, overbite, underbite), open sores/boils/warts/nail fungus other serious skin issues.

Most of the time I think people who are excessively made up or who wear too much product are the most ugly though.

I don't find anyone necessarily ugly but I don't think Megan Fox is anywhere near as hot as people say she is. And I'm attracted to chicks so this isn't a jealous straight girl speaking. xD

I just have always found him repellant. Name basically any other Hollywood actor and I find them more attractive.

Miley Cyrus. It have nothing against her, but her face just looks like a frying pan to me, and always has.

lol, I like how you had your mind so blown by that thread that you default to assuming that people are only saying it because they're afraid Peter Dinklage will see it and have his feelings hurt. He's an attractive guy! He has nice features, pretty eyes, a great smile, and he rocks the facial hair.

As for my votes: "Hollywood ugly" is probably along the lines of Michelle Rodrguez-- she's gorgeous, but she's always cast in manly, "unattractive" roles, so we're supposed to feel that she's not hot.

Actual ugly: I've always thought Willem Dafoe looked like a meth addict that got hit by a few cars. Something about his face is hugely off-putting to me.

I can usually find something appealing about everyone.

Uh. It took me a very long time to get turned on to Dolph Ziggler. (WWE, we had a secret about his ass a while back.) He was too ramen-haired and corn-fed (er, like perfect and All-American, I guess) looking for me. But then he wore eye-liner and he's been glamming it up '80's style lately. So. I dunno. I guess I'm into that.

I'm sorry, but the way you talk you sound like you think there is some objective attractive and objective ugly. And that simply isn't true. The reason everyone is considered attractive here is because there is always someone who sees someone as attractive and someone else who doesn't.

I guess a lot of it's down to how you present yourself. For instance, I'd usually say it's ugly to be so overweight that you waddle when you walk, but I have one colleague who waddles when she walks, and I don't typically think of her as fat. She's so forceful that the terms that come to mind are "big," "huge," etc., and I'd compare the way she moves to a boulder or an approaching T-rex. If you convert that over to the acting world, it would seem like the better the actor, the more their attractiveness would vary as they switched personas to fit different roles.

I'd say that Peter Dinklage has got an attractive face for a dwarf.
