How did you make it through a writing class when you can't even use "you're" and "your" correctly?

MTE.

I usually proof-read something I'm going to turn in more times than I proofread my F!S comments.

Sometimes I'll take it to the campus writing center, just to get it triple checked.

No one said it was? Non-sequiturs aren't a sign of intelligence either, nonny.

Because creative writing classes aren't necessarily about grammar.

It really isn't a good sign if a writer is fucking up on a really basic, easily catchable thing like that. This isn't some weird obscure thing, or a grammar flub that can be attributed to style--this is just a pure mistake.

But it is an anon meme. I wouldn't expect someone to hold their comments to the same standard as their writing-writing. Still, they should try to make a habit to watch for that mistake if it's an issue they're having. I watch myself for effect/affect because it's good to build a habit of doing it correctly.

No, because most of the good ones assume you already have a decent grasp of that.

Or are you one of those people who think that how they present their work or whether or not a reader can shovel through grammatically awful, misspelled dreck doesn't matter because it's "creative?"

to be fair, those grammar mistakes bug me to no end but sometimes I make them too. if I see them I correct them, but that's easier for me to do as I rarely post anon.
