(Anonymous) 2015-05-20 02:42 am (UTC)(link)Are you on some sort of crazy diet that cuts out major nutritional groups like carbs? That's seriously bad for you. Remember that food group chart they gave you in school? Half of your diet needs to be carbs and you still need a significant amount of protein especially if you've also increased the amount of exercise you're doing.
Eat six small meals a day, that means you won't go too long without eating, you'll keep hunger at bay, and it will boost your metabolism and make you lose weight. If your body thinks it's starving (it sounds like it does) that'll fuck you up and make you put on much more weight in the long run.
I don't know if you have specialist dietary requirements but here's some advice and meal suggestions.
Eat veg. Eat an absolute load of the stuff. It's barely any calories and it's packed with awesome filling stuff. Squirt fresh veg with lemon or lime juice to make it super tasty, and give you vit C which helps you absorb B12 and folic acid. Spinach is a good alternative to lettuce.
Have a tiny amount of cheese chopped up in salads, or sliced hard boiled eggs. You need protein. Enough for your body to cope.
Lean meat like roasted chicken or turkey is not very fatty and gives you protein, B12, and other good stuff. You can fry non-breaded chicken in sunflower oil and a delicious lemon and thyme sauce (juice a lemon, zest it, mix with a couple of spoonfuls of oil, and thyme, fry it until cooked) for delicious chicken. I use Quorn because I live with a veggie and I'm usually making meals for us both.
One of my favourite breakfasts is sliced hard boiled eggs, spinach leaves, orange slices, chopped radishes, and chopped yellow peppers, and I add sunflower or pumkin seeds if I have any.
Healthy stir fry sauce: soy sauce, chopped onion, lime zest, lime juice, tiny pinch of paprika, parsley, little bit of sunflower oil. And I use plain boiled rice and lots of veg as well as Quorn chicken.
Fish is always really good too. I make my own fishcakes with salmon to avoid the supermarket breaded ones. I have a recipe for that somewhere if you'd like it?
