Re: Things you keep watching long after you stopped enjoying them

Daytime soaps, but mostly Bold and the Beautiful (Young and the Restless has managed to stay tolerable). The way they're handling the whole storyline with Maya is offensive as hell, even for a soap. I only still watch it because my mother refuses to realize it's turned into a pile of transphobic garbage, and she helps me babysit my nephew while my brother and sister-in-law are at work.

If you include books too, I keep reading Anita Blake long after I've stopped liking it entirely for the train wreck factor. I'm waiting on Anita to break down and fuck either Olaf (now that he's a werelion) or Edward (even though he's human) so I can never have to read another one again.

Seconding Anita Blake. I really liked Obsidian Butterfly but, after that, there was very little story and way too much...porn to justify buying the books anymore. So much sex and so little gratification

Obsidian Butterfly was where it started to get a little wobbly for me. Edward having a family was just... weird, I guess? The rest of it was great, but I could have done without actually meeting them.

I can't bring myself to stop though, so I just pirate them to read, hoping they'll get better but at the same time, knowing that they more than likely won't. I end up skimming the porn looking for plot. On the upside, I get to say I finished a novel in an hour, but on the downside, I'm finishing a novel in an hour.

Thirding on Anita Blake. After Obsidian Butterfly my enjoyment dropped dramatically. I read a few books afterwards (more than I should have) hoping it would be get better. After a while I got tired of the porn before plot aspect of her books. To the point where I don't even have any my Anita Blake novels anymore.

I watched Bold and the Beautiful for a while. A long while back. Then the one pairing I really liked broke up for good and I gave up the show. Probably not the way to watch a soap, but whatever.
