Am I the only one afraid to talk about specific people on these sorts of threads, in the off-chance they happen upon it? Even if there'd be no reason for them to know about fandomsecrets (or even fandom)?

As long as you vague it up enough - change names, change the type of fandom if you need to - then I don't think it'd be an issue.

Have you ever noticed how many people reply to semi-specific posts with some variant of "I'm scared this is me"? Or how many posts where people are venting about some personal experience that many others can relate to? I think that something that feels specific to you, the one experiencing it, can be interpreted many different ways by many different people, so in truth is never actually as specific as you think.

While I'm not (I've talked plenty about an ex-friend of mine who was a very manipulative emotional vampire) I can understand that fear.

If it bugs you that much, make it purposely vague.
